Basic LED Troubleshooting
LED: TROUBLESHOOTING
Usually if your bulb does not work right out of the box it is a problem with the bulb.
If you are finding that the LED bulb flickers it might be overheating in the socket. Track lighting or recessed cans that do not allow for maximum heat ventilation can cause problems for LEDs. Switch to a smaller LED and one with a good heat sink.
Voltage may become and issue with a low voltage LED lamp. LED’s may not meet transformer minimum load requirements. Therefore you might want to replace the transformer and increase the number of lamps used.
Finding compatible transformers is also a key in choosing LED lamps. Transformer frequency may not equal driver frequency, and lamp life is then sacrificed. Consult your manufacturer for a list of compatible transformers.
Not all LED lamps are dimmable and they may not be compatible with all dimmers. You should select an LED specially designed for dimming and consult your manufacturer. For best results, pair a dimmable LED lamp with a dimmer specifically designed for LEDs.
